My name is Marina dos Santos

I'm a watercolor artist and a former tropical botanist from Brazil. For years I painted in the Amazon for my research — sketching the anatomy of plants under the rainforest canopy — and somewhere in those quite hours, art transformed from a tool into a perspective of how I see the world. Today, I'm happily settled on the Texas gulf coast where I paint a slightly different type of beauty that can only be found where land meets the sea.​ In all of my paintings I try to create a little coastal charm. From shorebirds and seaside blooms, to playful pets and sunset cocktails, every piece can bring a little island feeling into your home.​​​
