Alongside the prints, cards, and workbooks in the shop, I take on a small number of commissions each month — usually pets, sometimes a favorite coastal scene, sometimes a beloved home by the water.

Every piece is painted by hand on premium watercolor paper, one brushstroke at a time. No filters, no AI, no shortcuts — just careful observation, a few good brushes, and the same approach I learned painting plants in the Amazon years ago.

How It Works

​​​

1. Tell me about your pet

Fill out the inquiry form below with a few photos and details. The more I can see — good light, eye-level angle, your pet's personality coming through — the better.

2. I send you a quote

Within 2 business days, I'll reply personally with a quote based on size, number of subjects, and any background details. No commitment yet.

​

3. You approve, I begin

Once you're happy with the quote, I'll send an invoice for a 50% deposit. As soon as that's in, your spot is reserved and I get started.

4. You see the finished piece

Within 1–2 weeks, I'll send you a photo of the finished painting. After you approve, the remaining 50% is due and I ship it to you carefully packaged, ready to frame. Optional along the way: in-progress photos so you can see it come to life. Just let me know on the form.

All prices are for original watercolor paintings on 140 lb. cold-press paper, signed by me. Shipping within the US is calculated at checkout.

Add-Ons

• Coastal-themed background (beach, dunes, palms, etc.) — add $25–40 depending on detail

• Certificate of authenticity — included on request, no extra charge

• Rush turnaround (under 1 week) — add 25% to base price, subject to availability

• Matching prints, cards, or stationery of your commission — ask for a bundle quote

Commission FAQs

How long does a commission take?

Most commissions are painted and shipped within 1–2 weeks of your deposit. If you need it sooner, the rush option is available when my schedule allows.

What kind of photos do you need?

The clearer and more personal, the better. Natural light, eye level with your pet, and an expression that captures their personality. You can send up to 5 photos with the form.

Can I commission a portrait of more than one pet?

Absolutely. Two- and three-pet portraits are priced above; for 4 or more, I'll send a custom quote.

Can the painting include a coastal background?

Yes — a beach, dock, palms, or any setting that suits your pet. There's a small add-on for the extra background work, but it's one of my favorite ways to bring a portrait to life.

​

Do you ship internationally?

Not at this time. Commissions ship within the US only, by ground via UPS, FedEx, or USPS.

​

What if I'm not happy with the finished piece?

I'll always send you a photo of the painting before I ship it. If something feels off, we'll talk it through. Because each piece is custom and original, all commissions are final once approved and shipped, but I work hard to make sure you love it before that point.

Do you do non-pet commissions?

Absolutely — favorite coastal scenes, homes by the water, or sentimental places. Mention it in the form and I'll let you know if it's a good fit for my style.
